Host Family and Au Pair Event: May 2016 at Sevier Park

Twice each year, I host a get-together for all Middle Tennessee au pairs, host parents, and host children. It is a casual opportunity for our au pairs and host families to meet each other, while enjoying the gorgeous outdoors at one of Nashville’s wonderful parks. I invite all Cultural Care Au Pair au pairs and families, any interested other agency au pairs/families, any interested potential/prospective families, as well as any past au pairs who are still in Tennessee or back for a visit. For my Spring 2016 gathering, we met at Sevier Park in 12South, which has a ton of green space, a walking trail, a large playground for bigger kids, and a small playground for toddlers. I rented a Pavilion for us to gather at, provided bottled water, iced tea, juice, light snacks, and fresh fruit. We had gorgeous weather, lots of fun, and just about 100 people attend — a great turnout!
Here are a couple pictures from the event. With so many people (and more importantly, so many kiddos on the move!), getting a group picture is tough, but we did manage to grab one with about half of our group, which is impressive! And the last picture is a spontaneous game of “Duck, Duck, Goose” that popped up between some au pairs, host moms, and host kids — adorable. =)
For anyone who wants to join for our next Host Family and Au Pair Meetup, mark your calendar for Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 3 PM at Owl Creek Park in Brentwood, Tennessee.
